Dare to Start All Over

We are close to the end of another year and it is in this season that, consciously or not, we look back and reflect on the past.

Personally I used to enjoy making an inventory of all my accomplishments as well as those forgotten goals throughout the 364 past days. I went over the list of satisfied goals, of those I felt I achieved, others that I dropped half way, and those specific ones I didn’t even start to try.

Over the last couple of years, and due to circumstances beyond my control, I was not able to focus on defining any resolution. I had no goal and didn’t even go through my previous lists. I was so devastated I felt hopeless about the future. So I started my year simply existing, living one day at a time putting one foot in front of the other while holding onto the belief that God would guide me through each day.

Today, as I’m facing the end of this tough year, I am so grateful. I realized that I went through it successfully; seeing I didn’t have a clear list of goals I knew my higher power did. I realized that no matter what, it is possible to keep moving forward and there is always hope. Truly it gives me a sense of peace and well-being. It helps me believe there’s a better tomorrow if I do my part and keep my faith; all things work together for good.

If like me you had a tough year and maybe you’re not in the mood to set new goals, resolutions, plans or projects, I am telling you: dare to start all over! You don’t have to do much, but just be willing to live one day at a time and believe there is a plan for your life, even though you have not written it on paper.

Believe there is something bigger than yourself able to give you the courage for each day. And rest assured that you’ll see marvelous things happening in your life. Remember everything can change in the blink of an eye and the end of a year is not the end of your life, but rather a new opportunity to start all over once more.

This year it is my goal to start again, even though my circumstances have not changed, being grateful about the opportunity life has given me and keeping in mind that each day is a miracle and I need to make the best of it.

Happy New Year!
